• advise students, host guest speakers, recruit judges for portfolio review event, present gallery talks at Nerman Museum and JCCC Night at the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art

• student won "Student Best of Show ADDY" in 2009 Kansas City Ad Club competition for a project done as a class assignment

• awarded for scoring in the top 10% on national Principles of Learning and Teaching exam

STUDENTS in Kolm's classes learn the techniques and practices of professional design starting with the fundamentals of composition and moving into typographic design and layout of publications. Kolm also teaches the latest versions of Adobe design applications.
